How Algorive Inc collects, uses, protects and deletes information when a QuickBooks Online company is connected to Algorive Ops.

This Privacy Policy explains how Algorive Inc (“Algorive,” “we,” “us”) handles information in connection with Algorive Ops (the “Application”), our business application that connects to QuickBooks Online, and these legal pages. Algorive is a California corporation located at 5228 Willowcrest Ave #2, North Hollywood, CA 91601.

In short: we use QuickBooks data only to do bookkeeping, invoicing, payments and reporting work for the company that connected it. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we delete it when the connection ends or when you ask, unless the law requires us to keep it.

01Information we collect

QuickBooks Online data

When an authorized user connects a QuickBooks Online company, and only with that authorization, the Application accesses data through Intuit’s APIs using the permissions granted:

Accounting data (com.intuit.quickbooks.accounting): company profile, chart of accounts, customers, vendors, products and services, invoices, estimates, bills, payments, journal entries and other transactions, and financial reports.
Payments data (com.intuit.quickbooks.payment): information about payment transactions processed through QuickBooks Payments for the connected company, such as amounts, dates, status and references. Payment processing is performed by Intuit.

QuickBooks records can include names, email addresses, phone numbers and postal addresses of the connected company’s own customers, vendors and contacts.

Contact and account information

Names, business email addresses, phone numbers and company names of users who sign in to the Application or who contact us, and the content of messages you send us.

Connection and technical information

OAuth access and refresh tokens and the QuickBooks company identifier (realm ID) needed to keep the connection working, and basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, timestamps and request records) used to operate and secure the Application.

These legal pages do not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. The Application uses only cookies or similar storage needed for sign-in and security.

02How we use information

We use information only to provide the Application to the connected company, including to:

keep the company’s books, including recording, categorizing and reconciling transactions;
create, send and track invoices, and create and record payments;
prepare financial and operational reports for the connected company;
maintain the QuickBooks connection, provide support and respond to requests;
secure the Application, prevent misuse and troubleshoot problems;
comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

We do not sell information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use QuickBooks data for marketing, profiling or any purpose unrelated to the connected company’s own business.

03How we share information

We share information only as needed to operate the Application:

Intuit Inc., to read and write data in QuickBooks Online and to process payments through QuickBooks Payments, as authorized by the connected company. Intuit’s handling of data is governed by Intuit’s own privacy statement.
Cloud hosting providers (Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud), which host and store data on our behalf under their contractual data-protection terms and may not use it for their own purposes.
Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena or other legal process, or when necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of Algorive, our customers or others.
Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.

We may also share information with the connected company’s own authorized users or advisers at that company’s direction.

04Storage and security

Data is stored with Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud and is encrypted at rest.
Data is encrypted in transit using TLS.
QuickBooks OAuth tokens are stored encrypted and are used only to access the company that granted them.
Access to data is limited, on a least-privilege basis, to the systems and personnel that need it to provide the Application.

No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you as required by law.

05Retention and deletion

We keep QuickBooks data only while the company remains connected and as long as needed to provide the Application to that company.
When QuickBooks Online is disconnected from the Application, the OAuth tokens are revoked and deleted, and the Application stops accessing the company’s QuickBooks data. We then delete QuickBooks data we hold for that company, unless the company asks us in writing to keep it for continued services, or we must keep certain records to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations or to resolve disputes.
You can ask us to delete your information at any time by writing to info@algorive.com.
Copies in backups are removed as the backups expire on their normal schedule.

Disconnecting the Application does not delete any data in your QuickBooks Online company. That data stays in QuickBooks and is governed by your agreement with Intuit.

06Your choices

Disconnect the Application at any time from the apps area of QuickBooks Online, or ask us to disconnect it for you.
Access, correct or delete information we hold by contacting us.
Contact preferences: you can ask us not to contact you except as needed to provide the Application.

07California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, and to the extent the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA”), applies to Algorive, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:

Right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it.
Right to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
Right to opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and have not done so in the past 12 months.
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information. We use sensitive personal information, if any, only as needed to provide the Application, as permitted by the CCPA.
Right to non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.

In the past 12 months, the categories of personal information we may have collected, from the connected company’s QuickBooks Online account or directly from you, are: identifiers and contact details (such as name, email address, phone number and postal address); commercial information (such as invoices, payments and transaction records); and internet or network activity information (such as technical logs). We use and disclose these categories only for the business purposes described in sections 2 and 3, and retain them as described in section 5.

To make a request, email info@algorive.com or call (818) 714-0776. We will verify your request by confirming information we already hold, and respond within the time the law requires (generally 45 days). You may have someone you authorize make a request on your behalf; that person must provide proof of your authorization. Where we process personal information on behalf of a connected company (for example, records of that company’s customers), we may refer your request to that company and assist it in responding.

California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code § 1798.83): we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

08Children

The Application is a business service and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

09Data location

Algorive is based in the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States by us and our hosting providers.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. If changes are material, we will give reasonable notice, for example by email or in the Application.
